The people who test, score and sign off on every guide
Trust Consumer Review is written by four in-house test teams. Each guide names the team that produced it, so you always know who is making the claim.
How a byline works here
Every buying guide carries the name of the team that tested the products and the date it was last checked. The same team is responsible for the scores, the verdict and any correction that follows. If a guide is updated, the date changes — we do not quietly re-rank products.
Our test teams
Our Home & Garden team spends its weeks in the yard, not the showroom. Every blower, trimmer and chainsaw on this site is run through the same sequence: a timed clean-up on dry and wet ground, a noise reading at ear height, an airflow or cut-throughput measurement, then a week of ordinary use to see what rattles, loosens or annoys.
The Home Tech team tests signal, latency and battery life rather than quoting the box. Devices are run on the same home network, measured with the same tools, and kept for at least two weeks so we can see how firmware updates, app changes and daily use affect the experience.
Our personal care team tests over multi-week periods with a panel of volunteers of different ages, skin and hair types. We record comfort, build quality and whether the product still works as advertised on day thirty — and we say plainly when a claim is marketing rather than medicine.
The Outdoors & Travel team takes products out of the house: field, trail, campsite and airport. We weigh packed size, real-world runtime, weather resistance and how the thing holds up when it is carried rather than plugged in.
What we will not do
- We do not accept payment for a ranking, a score, or a place in a comparison table.
- We do not publish a review of a product we have not handled.
- We do not remove a criticism because a brand asked us to.
- We do not invent authors, awards or review counts.
Corrections
If you believe a spec, price or claim on one of our guides is wrong, email contact@trustconsumerreview.com with the page URL and the detail in question. We check every report against the source and update the guide — with a dated note — when we got something wrong.
How the teams are funded
The site is funded by affiliate commissions: when you buy through a link on one of our pages, the retailer may pay us a small percentage. This costs you nothing extra and does not affect which product we recommend. Our advertiser disclosure explains the arrangement in full, and our testing methodology explains how the scores are produced.
